Dear Friends and Family,
As we continue to move forward into the New Year, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the past year and thank all of our family, friends, customers, vendors and employees for supporting us and helping us achieve the great success that we enjoyed in 2011. We accomplished so much in the past year, including the opening of our newest retail location in Regency Court, launching our international web site, www.alenetoo.com, and we are so grateful that we have been able to give back to the community through our “Shopping with a Purpose” Programs. Giving back to the community is the unwavering commitment of Alene Too that has and will continue to guide us in the future. Over the past year we have supported a number of worthy causes in a myriad of ways, whether as a sponsor, contributor or donor. No legitimate charity worthy of our support is forgotten.
In 2012, Alene Too is joining forces and supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and launching a campaign that we hope you will join us in. Every dollar that we raise counts as one vote and the candidate who gets the most votes/raises the most money is named the local Man or Woman of the Year. Lizzy and Debbie are committed to make sure that they are chosen, because if they win, then victims of this dreaded but curable disease also win! The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin’s Disease and Myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Together, we really can beat cancer!
Ryan Alarcon is an adorable and vivacious 4-year-old boy who lives in Boca Raton with his parents Carlos and Christy and big sister Mia. In January of 2011, Ryan was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) at the young age of 3. After undergoing several rounds of intensive chemotherapy, Ryan is now in remission and living the life of an active and healthy 4-year-old. Despite the struggles they endured with his illness, Ryan and his family are grateful for the journey and feel blessed that Ryan has been cancer-free for six months. His parents credit his shining spirit, amazing strength and silly sense of humor for getting him through the challenges he faced during treatment. Some of Ryan’s favorite activities include: baseball, playing with cars and trucks, and anything having to do with Spiderman and Batman. We are honored to have Ryan serve as our distinguished Boy of the Year.
